About Sergeant Jasper

Founded in the late 1960s, Sergeant Jasper Country Club was a top-notch 18-hole private country club that famously hosted accomplished players like Jack Nicklaus. Over the years, the crowds and membership steadily dwindled and the club was downsized to nine holes. By 2020, “The Sarge,” as the course is colloquially known, was faced with the prospect of closing its doors.

That’s when the Congaree Foundation, which has a mission to positively impact the lives of young people locally and around the globe through the game of golf, acquired the course in 2021. Through the support of the Jasper County community, Congaree Ambassadors, and PGA TOUR professionals, Congaree Foundation is working to reinvigorate the course to provide a quality golf destination for experienced players and aspiring golfers of all ages.
